If only Fate could be lenient

Written during the fifth wave of Covid in Hong Kong, many felt like Fate was being unreasonable. An offhand comment made by my teacher resonated with me and I decided to focus on a different example of ways Fate may seem unfair. This was also largely inspired by The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak and its use of unorthodox narrators to tell things from their point of view.
